How do you make money if you don't mark up materials?

The room list and the membership. If a brand wants to give us an affiliate link we'll take it, but that is not how we make our money and it never decides what ends up in your room. We are directing homeowners toward their own style, not toward brands begging us to bring you there. We want to build your home, not a home you got sold into because somebody else was getting a good deal.

Is the room designed for my exact space?

The list is the full specification for a designed room, matched to your style. Members get it rendered into a photo of their own room, with quantities worked out for their measurements.

Do I have to use your contractor?

We don't have one. Use whoever you already trust. Send us their labor quote and we'll tell you whether the number is fair. We'll also arm you with the questions to ask before you pay anything and during the build, so the work gets done right, the way you wanted it, at a price that makes sense.

Where does your labor pricing come from?

Published construction cost data adjusted for your area, our own project history, and the quotes members send in. We give you the range and the question to ask, not a verdict.
